training before posting to 9 Indp Para Sqn RE for P company which I did not pass and then off to sunny
Ripon to join 48 Fd Sqn RE, 38 Engr Regt. I also served in 43 Fd Sp Sqn Osnabruck, onto 50 Fd Sqn
(const) in Maidstone and a tour of the Falkland Islands in 1982 right after the confict , back to BAOR at
Hamlin with 71 Amph Sp Sqn, 28 Amph Engr Regt followed by a move around the
corner to 44 Fd Sp Sqn, part of 35 Engr Regt. My next move was back to Maidstone and 36 Engr regt with
61 Fd Sp Sqn and at the start of 1991 a move to 50 Fd Sqn(const) again and a trip to the Gulf. On my
return to UK I was posted to Central Engineer Park as an instructor at the Resources Wing but ended up
working on Op Drawdown, the return of Engr stores from Germany and the Gulf. I left the corps on the 22
May 1993 in the rank of Sergent.  I have done many tours in between such as the Oman 1974, NI in 1971
at long kesh( the oridginal build) Castle Dillon during 1973 and the Queens visit to NI in 1977 as a
member of a RE search team. UN tour in 1990, Gulf in 1991 pius other tours in Kenya, Canada, Gibraltar,
Cyprus.
